Last month we had our first “High Tea” in Dubai served at the tallest tower in the world, the Burj Khalifa. I made reservations a week in advance and didn’t have any trouble getting a table since it was on a Tuesday. The afternoon tea included a selection of scones, sandwiches, quiches and desserts with obligatory mocktails, juices, tea, and coffee.
At 1,350 feet high on the 122nd floor, the At.mosphere lounge couples serene ambiance with impressive views of downtown from every angle of the restaurant.
The entrance to the Burj leads directly to a counter where an escort takes you up the 123 floors in a (fast) elevator.

Even the bathroom had great views!
Of course there was a harpist to set the mood.
The High Tea began with delicious juice and small skewers of fruit.
More delicious juice and mocktails were offered and enjoyed.
A platter of sandwiches, quiches and desserts was served next – yum!
The cook was even kind enough to do versions without cheese for me which I really appreciated (not pictured).
The next round of goodies included scones served with jams, cream, and custard. Completely delicious and oh so filling. For some reason I don’t have any pictures of the tea and coffee that came at the same time… I guess I must have been distracted by the good food!
Our view of Dubai as the sun began to set and the delicious afternoon tea came to an end.
Beautiful decor, delicious morsels, and great views made this unique experience one definitely worth repeating.
Note for the traveler: I wouldn’t recommend going to At.mosphere on the weekend. I’ve heard it can get extremely busy and lose some of its charm once packed with people.
